2005 ram 2500 4x4 quad vs. 2006 ram 1500 quad 4x4

I got it narrowed down between 2 tow vehicles. Both should be WELL within my towing capacity. I tow a 26' wildwood tbss travel trailer loaded down at 6,700#'s... FIRST, I have found a 2006 Dodge Ram ...

4th and 5th are both an overdrive gear. 3rd is 1:1.

04 & 05 have tow haul which changes shift points and locks out 5th gear.
06 an above have ability to also lock out 4th and 5th


My apologies, you are correct. I didn't think the 1/2 tons got more than 4 cogs until the 4th gen trucks.
