I tow a 24-foot Cougar TT with a 2007 Escalade. Compared to your Escalade, mine has a slightly larger engine (6.2 liter vs 6.0 liter), but otherwise I think comparable.
My Cougar dry weight is about 500 pounds less than the trailer you are considering. My tongue weight is approximately 10% of total weight so about 700 pounds with the trailer fully loaded. It's just myself and my wife and we carry very little else in the Escalade so we are well below the 1400 pounds of payload.
I have towed about 13,000 miles over the past 3 seasons and have been very pleased with the Escalade's mountain climbing performance as well as braking going down steep descents.
Having said all this, I would not want another 9 feet of trailer behind me as would be the case with the trailer you are considering. In general, I think you will find on the forums that the majority believe that a 33-foot TT is just too long to be safely pulled by any half-ton truck.
