2006 lance nose siding bulge

hello all, just uncovered and voila , noticed that the nose siding is bulging right at the siding seam. appears that it has become detatched from framing all down the siding seam. can i just repair with a few screws and seal or do have to rip off siding from roof down to seam? any ideas help apprieciated!! thanks pete
  • does anyone know if i can get a schematic and/or blue print that would show me the location of the framing online? thanks, pete
  • thanks all,no water indicated inside at all,it just appears that the siding (alum) popped out at the seam on the cabover .. im wondering if its possible that the screws just pulled? hoping... pete
  • If water infiltrated, it could possibly be pooling at the bottom of the cab-over area, and rot could have started. If the framing is rotting, there won't be anything substantial to screw into.

The inlaws' motorhome had water seep in the cab-over. No one noticed until I was cleaning it for them and wondered why the flies were flipping about up there. Took the mattress off and my knee pressed into the soft 'floor'. We fixed it - the entire floor area was water damaged and the side wall areas up for about 6" were blackened too.
  • I'm sorry to tell you... you have water damage.

Anytime the Luan buldges you have had water infiltration.

Push on thr bulge... then compare by pushing on an area that doesn't have a bulge... the bulge will be softer.

You can chech the skirts this way to... put your fingers insid and put your thumb outside... squeeze. The soft areas are bad.

You can sight along the sides and see the bulges... many people haven't done it... but you'll see it.

The people at Lance Customer serce showed me how... you can call them or your manufacturer.

Sorry to give you this bad news...

  • none that ive seen , i could be wrong there is no sign of water damage inside.....im hoping its not rot thanks pete
  • Find out what is causing the bulging. Screws come loose due to wood rot?
