That "tow rating" assumes you don't put anything else in the vehicle and you have the full payload rating.. Which you are giving up #600 right off the bat, since you only have a sticker that says #1200..
So forget about the "tow rating"... You aint' gonna get even close to that if you want to stay under payload/GVWR on your Sequoia.
You will likely start shopping for trailers looking at their 'dry weight' too... Forget that as well... ;)
Yes, you have a lot to learn and it doesn't help to be learning in this day and age... Too many ratings and too many lawyers and too many opinions!
You are going to get more confused before you even begin to "learn" anything because of the "internet", but that's just the way it is these days..
My suggestion would be to get a trailer with a GVWR of no more than #6000 and pack light.. ;)
