Power no issue, where did you get the payload info from? if from a brochure, the payload is probably less than that. If off the door sticker, then that payload is what you have.

It will pull it, though you might want to invest in some air bags for the rear axle.

I would tow that trailer with it.

But if I was going to be towing it a lot or if the width of a dually was not going to be a disadvantage I might go with a dually.

From a weight police (the WP on this site not the real DOT officers) point of view you might be over or pushing it or over on payload but I really doubt you will be over your axle weight ratings.

You'd do better to go for a dual rear wheel 1 ton. 3/4 ton trucks will pull the weight, but they really cannot handle mega high pin weights.

I have a 3/4 ton diesel crew cab, and I'm limiting myself to 2K pin weight and 11K total dry weight.

So many of the full size fivers, like Montanas and Big Horns, really need duellies.

According to the manual king pin weight max is 2500#. Let me ask a question with looking at some 5th wheel trailers whether it be on Heartland, or Jayco's web sights how can I determine/estimate the kingpin weight on theses coaches? Say for this coach.

Those numbers are max payload and towing for a 3/4 ton.

My crew cab 4x4 has 2,550 payload (door sticker)and 15,300 towing a GN or FW. Bumper pull drops to 13,500 with 1,500 lb hitch weight.

The payload and towing numbers can be found in the owners manual. It has a break down based on configuration. The ext cab will have higher numbers than mine. I think it would have to be a 2wd gasser to get that kind of payload.

A 2500HD crew cab 4x4 with a high level trim will have around 7,500lb curb weight.

Go to a 3500 SRW for 500 more lbs of payload? my opinion plus or minus 500 lbs isn't going to matter. Your talking the weight of 2 grown male adults 500 lbs either way doesn't matter to me.

Yeah, unless you're talking about the different options w the new Rams, a 3500 has always been the same truck as a 2500 plus a couple leafs in the rear and different badges.
If going used, get whatever is the best condition/deal and figure on adding a couple leafs or bags, timbrens etc if your hauling a real load.
