2011 F150 Tires

As my sig says I have a 2011 F150 ecoboost with max tow that will be needing tires in a few months. I absolutely hate the squishyness of the P rated tires while towing and wish to switch to a LT tire for a more stable stance while towing. I'm not sure whether to go Load C or E. I had put Yokohoma AT LT275 65 18's load E on my 08 F150 but then sold it a month later only towing with them on the truck one time and it was night and day to the P rated tires. I'm not even sure what the correct air pressure was to run them at as this was years ago. I still have the same size 275 65 18. What have any of you switched to and any advice on a specific brand tire? I am running P rated goodyear silent armors now which are no longer made anyway. I loved them for snow traction but hate them for the soft sidewall while towing.
Any suggestions will be appreciated thanks!!

Oh and BTW I know LT tires will NOT up my RAWR I am not looking for that at all....just less squishy tire feeling :D

  • I run LT "C's" on my 1500. They were slightly cheaper, slightly lighter. I was always concerned about having to run "E's" at their minimum recommended pressure, due to low pressure 60lbs rims.
  • I have 60k miles on a set of Yoko Geolanders and have been very happy with them. Got the E's cheaper on Tire Rack than the D's, so that's what I went with. Not sure if they help with towing stability or not. Now that the tread is almost gone, they ride harsher on bumpy roads, but still very happy with them overall. Might go with another set soon.
  • I went from C-range rated Goodyear Wrangler AT/S's to E-range Michelins on my 2000 F150 about 5 years ago. The unloaded ride is a little stiffer than it was originally, but the towing stiffness was noticeably more planted and less 'squishy' as you described it. (It's now my daily-driver, and seldom tows any more) The things are wearing like they're made of iron, but I love 'em! I run them inflated for the load they actually see and the wear is almost dead-straight even across all four tires.
