- grampscamperExplorerI owned a 2011 Ford F250 with the 6.7 diesel. I had numerous problems with mine. It was an early build. Many of the 2011's were trouble free but not mine. Turbo oil leak, DEF pump failure, starter replaced, batteries replaced & intermittent electrical problems.
I traded mine in on my current 2013. No issues with it so far. A friend wanted to buy my truck when I traded it. I talked him out of it. It is a first year build for the 6.7. I would walk away. They're very expensive to repair if you have any major issues. - rhagfoExplorer III

$32,000 for a 2011 with 98,000 miles. I paid $36,000 after rebates for my 12 Ram 2500 4x4 CCLB CTD. Way too much money for that 2011 IMO.
Think about looking at something besides a FORD!
I was a 45 year FORD man bought an 2001 one owner Dodge Ram 5.9 Cummins with 234,00 one owner miles!!
Currently at 273,000 miles and could not be happier, pulling an 11,000# 5er with plenty of power. This is a 235 HP 410 lb. ft. of torque NEW, I added a DS Power Puck (50 HP and 150 Torque claimed) Still less than 300 hp, and will pull most hills at 60+mph.
There is a lot to be said about a straight 6!! - goducks10Explorer$32,000 for a 2011 with 98,000 miles. I paid $36,000 after rebates for my 12 Ram 2500 4x4 CCLB CTD. Way too much money for that 2011 IMO.
- bigcitypopoExplorer32k... I don't want a gasser... If I upgrade it'll be a diesel.. Towing at altitude with anything less than a turbo is disappointing. Lol
- FireGuardExplorer IIWhats the asking price?
diesels seem to be commanding premium price. To tow your trailer you may want to look at a new gas rig
The ram 2500 with 6.4 Hemi is rated to tow 15k lbs and you could pick up a new Tradesman model 4x4 for just over $30k and buy a lifetime bumper to bumper warranty. - The_Mad_NorskyExplorerDouble posted somehow. My bad. :o

Hmmm.. Good to know... Wow. A hpfp is 10k. Yikes... What's the reliability like on the current ones.
The topic of the high pressure fuel pump for the 6.7L Powerstroke has been discussed here to almost no end.
To summarize, in VERY few words, looks like about 97% of these trucks are trouble free.
But OMG would one hate to be one of those 3 percent.
And, ON EDIT, 3 percent may not seem very high. BUT, among just members of this rv.net forum, where regular contributors probably represent less than 1/1000 of 1 percent of truck owners here in North America, there have been at least two confirmed failures, possibly three. - bigcitypopoExplorerHmmm.. - jus2shyExplorerIf it's a job 1 truck, it may have a valve defect on the passenger side head. It's rare, but it is an issue for that first production run.
- 45RicochetExplorerIt's a 2011 Ford soooooooo I'd watch the CP.4 HPFP and do a car fax on it. OBTW a HPFP is about $10-12K. Otherwise it seems to be a fine TV except that low payload number.
