Definitely the JGC will handle a popup with ease. My Highlander is lighter weight and has shorter wheelbase and about 20 HP less than the JGC, yet I have towed cargo trailers and a travel trailer with it for over 100K miles. With either tow vehicle, a 2000 lb popup is almost like nothing back there.
