You will get much better fuel mileage with a diesel. The 26 gallon tank is a joke, figure on replacing it with a 50 gallon Titan tank right away. Diesel fuel was priced close to regular gas in much of the country, the east is where the price is out of line.
I just pulled a 26' TT all around the country and got just over 11 MPG. I used all kinds of roads, not just interstates. I learned that the 6.7 was the right choice for me. The exhaust brake alone is worth it. I am well pleased in how the western mountains were not even a factor going up or down.
It would be better to allow a regen to complete, but it ain't necessary.
