2012 F350 6.7 with 29,500 miles. Tows my 35' 5er great, even over Colorado mountain passes. Love the truck. Only problem has been an exhaust gas temp high sensor went bad, replaced under warranty. Gets a little over 10 mpg towing 65-70 on the highway. Can squeeze over 20 mpg on the highway if I drive for max mpg, but 19 with my normal heavy foot.
I have a long bed and the larger fuel tank and longer between fuel stops. But even with the smaller tank you should get 3 hours or more towing and time for a break anyway.
Only way I know it is in regen is the message display. No affect on towing, other than the drop in mpg.
There were some reports of high pressure fuel system problems on early models. But it seems those reports were isolated and have faded away. I would tend to avoid a 2011 year model if for no other reason than the fact it was the first year.
