The controller in the 12's HD's are very good. My HD truck is a late 11, the controller worked better than my old junk P-2 but still not very good.
I recently spent the $350 and installed the MaxBrake, it is worth every penny!
It is easy to install, it ties into the brake line with a Honeywell pressure sensor that plugs into the controller and they have a cable that plugs into the factory harness and into the MaxBrake controller. That is it. You adjust it once and then you can tow any trailer without further adjustment.
It is truly seamless braking. Imagine touching your brakes without a trailer attached, that is exactly how it feels with the trailer attached.
It is one of those products that you really don't know how poorly your controller works until you have a MaxBrake.
Dutch and Di are members on here and they sell the MaxBrake along with other quality RV products.
