A friend of mine installed a lockup converter and switch on is 93. Made a world of difference when towing. He did not use it much when not towing.
Seems like a modified valve body would be need also?
Yeah, he bought the locking TC and new valvebody together from some company, and then customized the switch up by the gear selector. The TC itself had a much lower stall speed than the stock one so that in itself made a huge improvement.
