- dadmomhExplorerTrailmanors, as I understand it, are NOT hybrids because they do not have canvas bunkends. They aren't the more common "expandables" because those usually have a rear slide with a bed. I suppose you could consider them expandables, but on the other hand.....there doesn't seem to be a spot for them other than the specific Trailmanor Forum as mentioned. Folks with true hybrids are not even close to being involved with the Trailmanor. Hope this makes sense. This pops up from time to time and usually only one RVNet member suggests them for any and all situations. I believe you would get more solid information from the Trailmanor Forum. You are certainly welcome to lurk here or be a part of the RVNet hybrid or travel trailer forums, but don't expect the kind of information specific to Trailmanors. The owners of those models are few and far between....a small niche market. In any event, happy camping!
- atchoochooExplorerThanks for your replies. Like the OP I have been considering them in my search for an RV, but had been unable to find a lot of information, other than the Trailmanor forum. I agree with you that is probably due to the limited market.
- CKNSLSExplorerI have no direct experience with them, but I did seriously consider them before purchasing a "conventional" Filon/Aluminum trailer. They are great because you can store them in your garage because they have the folding tongue option and you can tow them with "less powerful" tow vehicles. So I considered one in order to not have to buy a new tow vehicle. I think the miles per gallon argument is not significant, because most people don't tow that many miles anyhow.
The bottom line is I thought the setup was way too much work. I know the Trailmanor salespeople tell you that it can be set up in X amount of minutes-but try doing that in a blinding rainstorm which I have experienced. The beauty of a conventional hard sided trailer is you can just run back there until the storm passes and then set up.
They do keep their resale value, but then again your market to sell it used is pretty narrow. You have to find someone who wants that type of trailer.
Good luck in whatever you decide. - bikendanExplorerbecause this isn't the correct forum for them.
and because there just aren't that many TM owners out there, except on
their owner's forum:

maybe when Dick B. shows up, he can give them more info. - atchoochooExplorerWhats the issue with Trailmanors? It seems that every post is greeted with its not a hybrid; its not a folding, but never any information.

Good, bad, ugly?
All opinions are desired.
Trailmanor is not a hybrid. it has no canvas, which is required to be called a hybrid.
it's a folding travel trailer.
only Dick B. will sing the Trailmanor's praises on the Hybrid Forum.:W
