There is always a lot of misinformation. There were no glow plug problems, Ford used the destroyed glow plugs as a way to diagnose a complete engine failure. There were some bearing failures, particularly in the first ones built in 2010 because HoseB didn't tighten the rod bolts. Ford used the same fuel pump as GM. The fuel pump disaster kit is only partially effective. Parts kit to replace a catastrophic HPFP failure can be had for about $3,000. Radiators do have too many failures, Ford now eliminated the top left mounting bolt to relieve some stress.
A big expense for a high mileage truck can be a DPF that is plugged, some can be cleaned. Like previously mentioned, check idle hours. Some folks like to play big trucker and idle them needlessly.
