My 2012 3500/Crew Cab/Long Bed/DRW/4.10 gears gets 8-11 MPG towing. It's usually around 9. Ever fill-up is recorded and hand-calculated (well, there's an app for that).
I'm pulling a 14k (scaled, ready to camp) fifth wheel that is 42' long; 2,300 pounds of that is pin weight. Including pin weight, the truck weighs in at 11,500 which is about 800 pounds less than GVWR.

I have about 15,000 miles on the odometer now. 5,000 of those have been towing miles.
On edit: I generally travel between 60-65mph and mostly stick to interstates on the east coast.
