I have been looking at a 2012 2500 4x4 ctd, primarily to tow a fifth wheel. Dies anyone have any insight into any problems or thoughts? The chevy and fords are a lot more, this one has 4k for 36k and it will only be used for the 5th wheel and maybe some Home Depot runs.
No G whiz!
Height of the bed of *any* brand 4x4 may be a minor obstacle for clearance, Clarance.
Make sure what you want to buy has an adjustable pin box - and some 5ths will also have added suspension location "plates" to raise the trlr.
Do your homework!
As far as choice of truck "Brand" - Cummings is a good engine (a bit hard to find), Cummins is a great engine.
Suggest you visit the various Diesel forums for a specific brand.
Several options for Chebby/GNC, Ferd, and Doddge.
See what kind of problems the *owners* of each brand are having, (down) time spent at the stealership for warranty stuff, etc.
On *those* forums owners are "airing" their problems, and looking for solutions.
On generic forums - the same folks will say how much they love their truck and bash the "other" brands..:W
