I've had my 2007 for almost two years and it is a great truck. Likewise, when I was looking for a truck, finding a used Tundra in great shape wasn't easy as so many of them are used as work trucks and they really take a beating.
They're a great tow vehicle and when I tow my Winnebago at less than 6,500 lbs., the truck handles it without a problem and I hope to take it over the Rocky Mountains in 2015! When I towed my Sunline (replaced by Winnie) that weighed in around 8K, the Tundra was a bit challenged when climbing steeper grades in the hills of Ohio. So, although the Tundra is rated to tow around 10K, I wouldn't want to do so if I were planning to keep the truck for many years. But, that's just my opinion.
As to price, from what I understand, buying Ceritified adds about a thousand, so to buy a 2012 model for that price seems fair to me considering the problem of finding used Tundras in excellent condition.
Good luck and enjoy the Tundra!
