I've had 2 Tundras - an 08 and a 12. Great trucks. Awesome power train and a willing tow vehicle.
Crappy mileage didn't bother me as much as the short range when towing (small tank + 8-10mpg towing == frequent stops). I'd still have one if I didn't upgrade to a DRW sized 5th wheel.
FWIW, I didn't buy the top end trim, as fully-loaded they can get quite pricey. I preferred the double cab configuration with the longer bed and still-roomy back seat. I added aftermarket leather for around 1k and enjoyed the truck immensely. Loved the engine and transmission - never was in want for more power when towing.
They do suffer from the 1/2 ton minimal payload curse, but I assume you have that math all sorted out for you needs...
