FYI, I ended up getting a 2013 Ford for $2500 less and 25K fewer miles. But oddly enough, I bought it at a Toyota dealership.
In the course of the conversation with the salesman, he said that he use to be a service advisor at the dealership and that the AIP issues was actually significant. He did say that outside of factory warranty, that it would cost roughly $4000 to have the repair work done, which validated alot of the statements being made on the two Toyota websites.
