The throttle lag or often referred to as "dead pedal" is well known on the 2011-2014 Duramax trucks and is thought to be in the factory tuning to reduce soot output during low boost fueling conditions. Its one of the worst characteristics of my 2012 so much to the point I am considering aftermarket EFI live tuning to get rid of it
Sounds like GM may have done some improvements in the tuning of the new 2015 HDs based on what you are saying about no throttle lag.
Surprised the ride would be any different since everything under the body is the same between years.
The ride difference is due to the Z-71 suspension package for off-road. It installs HD front springs and and extra rear leaf, plus different HD shocks ... and it actually lifts the truck a bit.
No doubt, the ride feels different ... absolutely, and very easy to feel it. Much stiffer, and the steering feels tighter -- Not so much a bad thing, if that's what you want and need -- the off-road upgrade, but we like a smoother ride, so it's less comfortable in our case.
But I'm hoping that throttle issue is fixed, or at least in this truck, is a non-issue. A good thing ...
