You took his post one way. I took it another. And he agreed that my post followed his intent. Did you read his response to me? Or did you ignore it because it does not support your position?
As far as the NFL, comment, I will still say you are wrong, especially when it comes to a player. You know, the ones who will make a comment every year like "I didn't know that a game could end in a tie".
Or a driver of a vehicle like someone who isn't a car enthusiast. Like say my sister. Who has put 150,000 + miles on her Suburban, yet would have no idea of what engine is in it.
Now, from your posts, I will give you enough credit to say that I don't think you are that type of driver. But I also know that just because you have put thousands of miles on one, that does not make your experience the end all be all.
I am not taking it personal. I was just correcting misleading information given. Please tell me how my first response to him stating that the carbon buildup issues was not a major problem with all DI engines like he was telling the OP.

Carbon buildup is not so much an issue on DI engines without EGR system like Ecoboost engines found in the F150 or GM's Ecotec line of engines found in their 1500's. It is a major issue in DI engines with EGR systems like the Ecoboost 2.0L, VW 2.0L, and BMW 2.0L.
Don't get me wrong, there is still carbon build up in DI engines without EGR systems(just like there is with port injected engines as well), but it is not enough to cause a major failure on a mass scale like it does on the DI engines with EGR systems.
I don't see anything in that statement as being condescending. All I was saying was DI engines that he was talking about with the carbon buildup issues causing head replacement were the DI engines with an EGR system(the 2.0L Ecoboost for example), and not the engines in the F150 (which are the ones the OP is talking about).
...and I disagree NFL comment so I guess we are at a stalemate on that. I would rather trust the person with experience and real world knowledge about the subject than someone who just read something from a few forums or seen a video of some tech talking about carbon buildup on a 2.0L Ecoboost and thinking that was the case for all Ecoboost engines.
