I have a 2013 ECO 4x4 CC. I was pulling a 4100lb dry TT, probably 5500 loaded. Just traded for a 4900lb dry TT (28' including tongue ), which is probably 6300lbs loaded.
Just got back from the Keys. Pulls great. I know it would pull more weight but I am right at my max payload. The one you are looking at may be the max payload / max tow version. Mine is not.
My ECO has 44,000 on it with about 1/4 of that towing. No problems at all with it except a bad battery in the first year and a recall for the brake master cylinder.
Not towing 8,000lbs but hope this info helps. My GF and I wanted a little bigger TT but I did not want to exceed the payload limits. Wish now I had bought the max payload / max tow version, but I love the truck. We just camped 6 weeks in the new TT. Very happy with it too and it fits our truck, size / weight wise.
Good luck
