2013 Passport 31RE

I am looking for some advice/help.

We purchased what we thought was our dream camper this April. We previously had a Crossroads Zinger 25RK. This new camper had everything we wanted and needed. Our family all has Keystone products and feels very highly about them.

We opted for the Passport based on weight and value for the price. After a lot of research, we went and decided to purchase.

A week before leaving for our first trip, we went out to start packing. This is when we found our door side slide had majorly leaked. The camper was taken to the dealer that night and had the entire slide, carpet in the camper, and most of the furniture replaced. Keystone reimbursed us for our missed trip and lost water damaged items. This repair took about three weeks to complete.

After returning from our first trip, we noticed that the hub on a wheel was bent. It was returned to the dealer and fixed. A new dinette chair was also ordered due to a scratched one replacing the water damaged one.

On our next trip, our refrigerator broke. No mobile RV repair person was able to fix it due lack of available parts (new model). Upon return, the fridge was fixed and the dinette table was also replaced due to chipping finishing. The fridge took so long to come in that we took the camper on a trip in between. Keystone reimbursed us for the lost food.

On our last trip, this weekend, the water heater did not work. After switching from electric to gas, we went out to check if the pilot lit. We found black residue all over the side of our camper. Needless to say, we did not have hot water for showers.

I am not sure how the last issue will be handled but I am not sure what to do. We are so upset with this camper and the quality of a multitude worth of things not listed in this post. Were we simply spoiled with our last camper? The only things that needed to be replaced were the tires and the light above the stove. Could someone please help us out with what to except? This seems like the camper from you know where!

We truly are not camper dummies we do all maintenance above and beyond what is suggested.

Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated!
  • Sounds like you have had a bit of bad luck with the new unit, but from the sounds of it the manufacturer has stood behind the work so far. That in itself is a plus for them. A lot of people have real horror stories trying to get warranty.

Talk with the manufacturer about these on going problems and they might step up with a permanent solution
