I think the reason why the dealer pointed you in the direction of an F250 was due to the reasons above that TomG2 stated. I also liked the idea of a 1/2 ton daily driver opposed to the 3/4 ton at one time but for me that idea is no longer a thought. I do drive an 3/4 ton as a DD and like it. I dont need to upgrade anything on it for safety margins. It really doesnt drink much more gas compared to the old 1/2 ton 5.3 that I had several years ago. The ride is very stable, and pretty comfortable. The truck is very refined and offers me more payload then an 1/2 ton truck. Kinda like 4X4, when you need it, you really need it... Dont take any of this wrong, I mean no offense. You are defintly doing your homework, I think thats smart. You buy what you like and can afford that meets your needs. Just know that your slide in camper options grow with a larger truck and stability is improved with the HD platforms. I dont like buying a truck that I need to add items to make it better or safer, when I could have bought the HD truck first.Good luck on your purchase and keep us updated.
