This might not be the right forum but.....Does the sensor that tells when to change your motor oil change when you run a different oil than what the truck came with ? I changed the oil at 5000 mil...

My 2012 6.7 goes off about 7K mi. also. I assume that the engine program assumes that you are running factory oil which is 10W-30 semi-synthetic. I have run two loads of Motorcraft full synthetic 5W-40 to 8500 mi. and then sent a sample to Blackstone oil lab. Both times the oil analysis said that I should be good to go to 10K mi. I figure that by running full synthetic I should be in great shape at 7500 mi even if the minder went off at 7K mi. I have now switched to Rotella T-6 and will probably test it sometime in the future.
