2014 GM 6.2 Ratings

Mans sounds awesome and all, but I really don't understand about the huge tow rating, when you run out of payload so fast....but I am sure some dude out there will be towing a mammoth fiver around claiming he can pull 12000lbs, yet be overloaded in payload....I would not feel comfortable pulling that much weight with a 1/2 ton truck...I know it's "beefed up" but still, a 12000 lb trailer is putting a large amount of pin weight on that truck. The normal everyday joe public, does not understand payload ratings... All he sees is what the advertiser wants him to see, and figures... Heck I can pull that.... Because the automaker said that I can.. Just like a guy the other day at work who owns a Titan...he swears up and down its a 3/4 ton truck... That's what he was told when he purchased it with the big tow package...anyway after I explained weight capacity and ratings he was frustrated knowing his payload was so minimal.....
