This engine sounds awesome and I am interested to see the mileage numbers... but this qoute is what leaves me scratching my head...

Why does GM absolutely REFUSE to offer the big engine in a base package? When I bought my Tundra in 2010 I looked at GM, Ford, Ram and Nissan as well. GM had the 6.2 back then (I think), but the only way I could get the 6.2L engine was to buy the $50,000+ model.
For someone like me who doesn't care about all the gadgets and upgrades and just wants a capable powertrain and few options (cruise, power windows/locks, AC, etc), GM still doesn't offer a competitive product. I could almost buy 2 Tundras for what a Denali costs...
