Thanks for this thread. I have been looking for 2 days on MPG for this truck.
I am waiting on a new 2500 6.4 and was having fuel consumption concerns. I was fearing 10 or so lightly loaded constantly. I think E-light has put my mind at a bit of ease.
Anyone that has one, would it be feasible to expect 12 -13 avg with about 1000 lbs in the back? Most miles will be average of about 45-50 with occasional 70 or so on the interstate. I'm in Florida and it's pretty darn flat here.
Down in the flatlands of FL I think 12-13 is realistic with a loaded bed. My travel trailer is basically a sail. It's almost completely flat in the front and I got 10.2 in the mountains when I just let the tranny do the shifting in tow/haul mode @ 60 mph. I think if you are easy on the pedal you will be able to get 12-13 with a 1000 lbs in the bed. Should be very do-able...I will say that 60 mph seems to be the sweet spot on highway speeds. Engine doesn't have to overwork and keeps the RPMs about 1800-1900 in 5th (top gear with tow/haul engaged).
