Anyone that has one, would it be feasible to expect 12 -13 avg with about 1000 lbs in the back? Most miles will be average of about 45-50 with occasional 70 or so on the interstate. I'm in Florida and it's pretty darn flat here.
You should be able to get that mpg with the use you're talking about. My 6.4 REALLY sucks down the fuel, idling, starting/stopping and driving slowly. Rolling down a highway or interstate it actually does very well. And I know any vehicle will use much more fuel under the conditions I list but it's more with this truck than my diesel by a noticeable amount. The diesel could start, stop, idle and go up steep hills with much better economy.
1500 miles in I'm averaging about 12.5 hand calculated with a pretty varied mix of driving. Plenty of highway but also lots of starts/stops and even some idling in the driveway (love the remote start on cold mornings :) )
