The 6.4L Hemi in the 2500 gets better mpg than the 5.7L Hemi in the same truck, and it has more power. Pretty easy decision in my mind.

No doubt!
The 6.4L doesn't have to work as hard towing, the TRQ comes at much lower RPM than the 5.7L. And at highway speeds MDS can get some good economy numbers. I have the 4.10 rear end. And if I can keep my foot out of it and take my time on the xpressways it does get really impressive mileage.
I am learning my truck still. One thing I have found is that the computer is very good at controlling the truck while towing. Set tow/haul mode, set your cruise speed (my truck does best at 60mph) and let the truck do it's thing.
Also I can confirm that the lateral stability is very good. I pulled a good portion of my last trip through 20-40 winds at freeway speeds. You could definitely feel the wind, no way around that when pulling a travel trailer, but I never got that white knuckle feeling and the truck handled it extremely well.
This truck is an excellent platform for those of us that need the power/payload/towing capacity for our recreational activities, but also need the versatility of a daily driver. It's an HD truck, so I won't pretend the ride is Lexus like, but I have no problem with the ride quality coming from a Tundra. And my family doesn't either. I love the way the truck rides.
