No, because it will defuel if the temps get too high. Although I said sustained meaning you you can keep on the throttle longer without them getting that high. Go buy an Edge Insight or other means to monitor your temps and set it to warn you at 1300F. Then go pull a long hill on the stock box on a hot day to see how quick you get there versus a good closed box intake.
A larger turbo and deleted exhaust will lower EGT's a lot more than an intake, but if you are not wanting to perform these modifications and want to try to keep your temps low because you tow in a hot area like south Texas all the time, then a good intake will help.
