With our 5.9 we change ever 10K which worked out to once a year with 15-40 Dino oil Delo 400, Fleatguard filter. I also have oil analyzed with each change, was told to go for 12,500 miles, but the 10K works well.
If you see that BLACK Oil drain and worry, below is a couple pictures of the tappet gallery. This with just over 300K miles the cover gasket started to leak, this is how it looked as I removed the cover.
This seems to be a DELO thing with the black streaks. My 98 12V at 100K I did the Killer dowel pin fix and the front of the timing case had black like in your pic. The previous owner used DELO for the 60K he owned it. Later we did the Dowel pin fix on my Dads 94 12V and his engine looked brand new with a bit of a golden color at 124K, he used AMZ/OIL for 120K of the engines life. NOT saying there is anything wrong with the black streaks just thought it was interesting what two oils do.
