The 2500 with the coil spring rear rides smoother
Oops..... I was thinking how GM and Ford just add an overload spring to the heavy duty 3/4 ton to make it a 1 ton srw. I didn't realize Ram did things different. My main point, however, is that the diesel 3/4 ton is heavy and with a 10,000 lb gvwr it only has about 1700 lbs of payload. Load up a family and you can only pull a tent trailer before you go over the gvwr.
Actually the new '17 and up Ford F350 has a different rear end and spring pack compared to a F250.
And RAM 3500 has a leaf spring pack compared to the 2500 coils and different rear frame section to provide clearance for the coil springs.
