2014 Silverado 2500HD MPG
Upgrade our 2011 Armada to a 2014 Silverado 2500 HD with the 6.0L V-8. What can I expect for gas mileage when towing about 9,000 lbs.

A couple weeks ago I took 17K up a 6 mile 6% grade (2015 3500 6.0), crested the hill at 40 mph, the dic said I was getting 4 mpg, elevation was about 6500 at the top of the grade. Overall on the 150 mile trip I averaged 8 mpg with that load. My LBZ would have gotten 9-10. The tranny heated to 210, ambient temp was about 65 degrees. As a side note, I had just gone through a DOT inspection at the bottom of hill, there was no running start.
