Your budget of $6500 is...optimistic. I think we have spent $6500 on masking tape in our build.
Not having water, holding tanks or a propane system will save you a vast amount of money. The electrical system can get expensive. We used tinned marine grade wire and marine switches/panels (instead of the Radio Shack garbage most campers use) but it is $$$.
Will be interesting to watch and I will stay tuned.
