I love seeing all the excuses posted by the Ram/Cummins pom pom boys. There was never any question as to what the results would be in the tests to anyone with an educated brain. Some try to lie their way thru their losses and failures in life in the real world while some others obviously only tell the truth. Absolutely no surprize that GM diesel trucks were voted and proven number 1 over and over as usual and is/was done with no excuses needed like the other two and their banner boys constantly utter! They have nothing else to show for their lacking choice/choices.
The GM costs 6% less than the Ram and is less than the Ford. GM's better riding and quieter. Gives approx 10% better fuel economy when hauling. The GM wins everytime but still the Ram slug boys with Ram's artificial and bogus as usual HP and Torque fictitious claimed power numbers is proven to be wrong again as usual as was Ford. Words are cheap and have no meaning as actual real world performance and testing gives the real and honest FACTS! The honestly and Sanction Certified much lower HP and torque of the GM says it all in tests. Must be some like to pay more for their trucks at purchase and then continue to pay more everytime they drive them. Then at the day of reckoning, the killer nail is when they even get less when they sell or trade their trucks away. What ever happened to learning a real "ejamacation" anyway?
How about the huge difference in brake temps going dowwnhill?
You blind and misled boys humor me so much and please keep it up! I like the laughs...
I'll just let you in on a little secret of sorts for the 2016 model year HD diesel trucks. The actual GM performances will be even far greater than these in this test and leave you scratching your already sore bleeding head. A little hinting has been done already in print media.
Calling us pom pom boys and you are cheering just as much. HAHAHA!! I don't know of any place that says the Ram has more power than the GM. I'm not going to go back and watch it again but I do believe I remember seeing that the GM had the lightest weights and it does have 12 more hp than the RAM. Cost option to option? No question, GM is higher than the Ram and probably higher than the almighty Ford.
As far as turning it up in '16. All I can say is TURN IT UP! I like hearing about power in these trucks. When it comes down to buying one I'm going to pick the one I like the best overall and you are too. Power is just going to be a little ity bity bit to the overall decision I make.
Funny thing about all this is that I have a 10 year old Cummins and I have buddies with 10 and 11 year Duramaxes and Powerstrokes and all of the would make these new so called big boy trucks look pitiful pulling the loads and hills they did in these test. LOL! - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Since they reduced the potential performance of the RAM and Ford trucks by making them all use the 3:73's do you think the results would be the same if they all three offered their BEST towing package? - ib516Explorer II

You might want to go back and review the results. In no test did the GM walk away from Ford and the MPH on each test proved out the Ford HP numbers. Why so aggressive and condescending in your attitude?
He's always that way - check his previous posts.
He also apparently missed the gasser 2500 shootout. Not even a peep from him in that thread -- likely because GM didn't "win" that comparison.
I've already posted my reaction to the GM/Duramax "win" earlier in this thread. - mich800Explorer

So we all agree that the three are now pretty close to equal. It took GM and Ram 15 years to get their truck to a level that is able to compete with what Ford basically brought out almost 10 years ago and it took Ford and Ram nearly 15 years to come up with an engine and transmission that would compete with the Duramax/Allison.
My opinion RAM has always had the best engine. 07.5 when they came out with the 68RFE that left the bad transmission problem behind them.
Now RAM has the best engine and transmission with the Aisin now.
In these initial tests they will all vary in performance. If someone wants a truck for the long haul they most likely buy the RAM/Aisin.
So the fan is louder than the other two when pulling a grade who cares it's pulling a lot of air thru the two radiators.
I would bet if you took a vote among the guys test driving all the trucks they would have picked the RAM.
Yes I will agree that they all are very close in performance.
Dodge $69,000
Ford $67,000
GMC $65,000
Guy in denial that another brand topped his beloved Dodge in a test - Priceless!!!
If you say so.
Medium Duty Engine, Medium duty Transmission.
Price them apples to apples RAM will be less $.
SAE J2807
Don't forget they dumbed the test down for GM. Let them all put their best 350/3500 out there and see what happens.
When you have so much torque down so low you need to limit torque. That is why the RAM was slower off the line. Interesting how they came from behind on the climb.
I really don't care how they placed I know what one will be around for the long haul. Just pointing out some of the tests.
I may have missed it. Where was it stated Ram came from behind? It was over one minute behind on the Davis Dam and 20 seconds on Eisenhower. They did not give distances or average speed so was the gap 1 mile, 1/4 mile or something in between.
"During our full quarter-mile runs (no surprises here either), the Ford just edged out the GMC on the flat-out runs, but the Ram did a tremendous job making up time some time through the middle and end of the 1,320-foot run, missing a winning time by less than a second." - mich800Explorer
