Hello everyone I am ready to start my RVing lifestyle and had a question regarding towing. I appreciate your help and look forward to start this adventure.I am purchasing a new 2015 keystone 26RBPR ultra lite trailer. I am concered about towing capacities here is the info:2012 F-150 5.0L super crew cab 145 wheel base 3.55 gear ratio with tow packageIn the ford specs it says max towing capacity is 7700lbs GVWR on door sticker is 7,350Trailer dry weight is 5,750 lbs with max cargo capacity of 1750Tongue weight 835I will have a nice stabilizing hitch with this package. I weigh about 225 my wife about 120 and my 2 kids about 80lbs combined. Do i have any concerns?

You seem to be maxing out that truck. You might not have immediate issues on flat land but if you live in mountainous terrain (or plan to travel), you might have problems. The kids are only going to get bigger. Might want to look at a 3/4T truck or lighter RV in my opinion

What is the payload of the truck. It should be listed on the drivers door. The payload needs to be high enough to cover the weight of people, gear in truck, weight of the actual hitch and load tongue weight. I towed a 31bhpr with a 150 and my payload was 1700. I was at the limits for sure but it worked. Guess you would put no more than 1000 pounds in the trailer so it will come down to the payload.

Says max payload of occupants should not exceed 1,585 does that help?

Gonna be borderline. A lot depends on what you expect while towing.And I would really like to know how they come off calling that TT a ULTRA LITE. That thing is durn heavy. Don't be fooled just because they say it is lite. It is NOT.

Good advice here so far. I would also look at the ratings of my truck's tires. Does the towing package include an enhanced transmission cooler? A lot also depends on where you are going to tow. If you are traveling in gently rolling country I would think you would be OK. If you are pulling or descending the Soco grade in N.C. you will need to be patient and careful. I think the F150 is an excellent truck but that is a big trailer.

I was able to het an even swap at the dealer for a 5.0 373 rear rated for 9200lbs i feel much better

No do not go to 20" tires you will be hurting ( not helping) the final drive ratio.

Not necessarily the case.. Depends on the size of tire you get with either size wheel.

My OEM spare tire is an 18" wheel (LT275/65/18) My OEM 20" wheels came with P275/55/20 tires. They work out to be the same overall height, so there would be no final drive ratio change.

I got new tires recently in size XL275/55/20. The XL is for Extra Load and are a bit more stiffer than the P rated tires, so even better than the originals..

The last set of All terrain TAs I had were worn out at 25,000 miles. You can find better tires in my opinion. I like Bridgestones pretty well.

With the payload and tow capacity, I would do it. Like I said before I towed with a 5.4 liter 150. My Premier is a 31bhpr which is 6400 unloaded and 8000 max. It towed fine including the White Mts of NH. So your trailer is 5-6 feet shorter and lighter so I think you will be ok. The reason for the 350 was not to tow although it tows great but just something that I wanted as a reward so to say.

I would have no concerns pulling that trailer with your truck.

I had a 2014 F150 with the trailer package and 355 gear. I bought a rockwood mini lite 2506S @4980 pound. The gross combined weight was 1,000 below max, if not mistaken.

Truck would pull it so-so even with a WDH but not comfortably and it was not pleasant to tow.

Traded the 150 off for a F250 power stroke Platnium. It is possibly a over kill but I do not regret it. Night and day difference for sure.

I did pull a 4,300 boat at 70-75 with the F150 with no problems. But my 11 foot tall 25 foot long TT catches a lot of wind and that is a lot different than pulling a boat.
