Your 4.3 made maybe 200 hp or so. The new one is 285HP and 305 lb ft of torque. With the newer 6 sp, this puts more torque to the rear wheels than my C2500 with a vortec 350 can in first gear. My swag, it will pull just fine!
But like a LOT of smaller lighter chassis rigs, payload is usually the enemy!
