I did not like the new body style until I saw a few in person. I have since changed my mind and think they are good looking trucks. My biggest complaint with all the currant GM offerings is that the front end hangs well below the center line of the the wheel. I still go off on some rougher forest service roads. I have never had a lifted truck. I have been able to do this in my old 90 and currant 2000. Looking at all the new GM offerings they have such lousy approach angles you have to lift them a few inches so you do not tare the front bumpers off. And if memory serves me with the 6.2 doesn't it run best on 91 octane?
You can pull that plastic air dam off if you chose. I put a Cognito leveling kit on mine (3500) and left the air dam on, it sits up a bit higher now with much better approach angle capability. I am offroad often and have not dragged it yet.
That is good to know. I have read that if you are going to do it, use the Cognito kit, as they are the best, from what I have read.
