All of the newer trucks seem to be much quitter in the cabs than the ones of 10 years or so ago. I'm in a 2014 Ram and just can't believe I can talk on my Bluetooth while rolling down the highway at 70 without a problem. When I test drove the Ford and Chevy/GMC they were similar.
There have been a lot of technological advancements with insulation for energy savings over the last decade (sound proofing is an added benefit) and I'd imagine it's trickling down to vehicles. One of the newer high end sedans (Audi I think) has double paned windows. That really has to help.
