2015 Chevy 3500HD 6.0 ordered today.

I just traded my 2012 2500 CC 4X4 with the 6.0 with a 3.73 for a 2015 2500 CC 4X4 with the 6.0 and a 4.10. You will be amazed at how quiet the 2015 as compared to your 2012. Many nice improvements for 2015. I am sure you will be very happy with the truck.

We pick up our 2015 GMC 3500HD crew this Saturday. We ordered it mid September. We went with the diesel, my wife thought the 6.0 was a pooch after she drove the diesel. Don't get me wrong, we had a 2011 2500 Chevy crew 6.0 and it did everything we ever wanted it to but was her decision to go with a coal burner.

Just got the same truck in a long bed. You'll love it!

Congrats on the new truck. Anvil like reliability with that 6.0 and the new GM hd's are good looking.

I have the 15 2500 6L CC 6.5" 4x4 w/a sticker of 2831 lbs.
Been wondering if I should go the 3500 route.

According to my commercial salesman (one of the top 5 in the nation so it says on his fancy jacket), that the 6.0 will not be replaced for at least the next 3 years. So I decided to buy now and perhaps trade it back when a new motor is released. The '12 was my first 6.0 and while prior to ownership I never thought much about the motor, it certainly pulls hard and never missed a beat. The cheap oil changes is also an added bonus. I really like driving the 6.2 GM trucks, it is like driving an 8K pound sports car. The 6.0 is certainly not as responsive or as powerful but it gets it done, and the current $3.00 gas certainly makes it easier to like the 6.0.

Sounds like a nice truck and with the 6.0 your payload will be awesome!

What you perceive as straining is actually a gas engine doing what is designed to do, rev to produce torque and HP.

A 7500lb trailer is not heavy for a 6.0L engine. The key with gas engines is to maintain momentum approaching a grade, drop a gear before the grade, increase your speed 5-10mph.

I have a 6.2 and don't see more than 35-3800 RPMs too many times pulling 10K+, on any interstate grade while maintaining 60 MPH.

The world may have passed me by but I am having trouble understanding the combination of a 3500 HD with only a 6L engine. My Suburban is straining on every hill pulling 7500 lbs. and the engine noise makes listening to the radio/cd a challenge. Are we doomed to put up with 6L engines forevermore?

Right now it is about $23 cheaper per tank for me of gas than this time last year.
