Things like this make me wonder if you really need to go through the cost and effort of changing out the filter at such low mileage. There is nothing to "go bad" in a filter due to time, just eventual accumulation of dirt from the oil.
Seems to me that you could just drop oil every 6 months (cheap and easy to do) and keep the filter for at least a year...
