Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. if you take the top off an oil container, cover it to keep contaminants off, do you have to toss it at 6 months.

I don't think you read my post very well. The dealership has a program that offers free oil changes as long as all other maintenance is done BY THE BOOK, by them. Since I don't hit the mileage, it's due every six months. So, they will change the oil every six months free, which is approx. 5K miles for me and I pay for fuel filters annually.
My original question had nothing to do with the intervals but more about the yearly cost of having them continue to do it.
