i don't believe in that practice. Right now my F250 has a couple of thousand miles on it at 8 months. It is never used for short trips where the motor does not get to normal operating temp.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. if you take the top off an oil container, cover it to keep contaminants off, do you have to toss it at 6 months.

I don't think you read my post very well. The dealership has a program that offers free oil changes as long as all other maintenance is done BY THE BOOK, by them. Since I don't hit the mileage, it's due every six months. So, they will change the oil every six months free, which is approx. 5K miles for me and I pay for fuel filters annually.
My original question had nothing to do with the intervals but more about the yearly cost of having them continue to do it.
