2015 F-150 Payload

I looked at the new F-150s yesterday and was quite surprised at the payloads. A new XLT crewcab optioned pretty much like my 2013 (4x4, 36 gallon tank, skid plates, some power options but not decadent) had almost 1900 pounds payload, my 2013 has 1319. I wonder if the receiver has a higher rating than the 1050-1130 pounds of the previous trucks (I didn't crawl under and look). If not with these high payloads a fella might tongue out before he payloads out, the way people now often payload out before they pull out.

In any event though I was prepared to buy a new truck it didn't call out to me; it was nice but not a different thing, know what I mean? As I sat in the new truck I thought "Damn, for this money (50K) we should buy a new Boxster, sell the camper and stay in hotels". Or maybe a new Mustang ragtop with the Ecoboost four.

Got my 2013 F150 max tow XLT, pretty well equipped with 34 miles on it last year for $33k ($43k sticker)

    I've got #1900 payload with a #7700 GVWR.

    Works for me.. :)

    "Works for me.."

That's all that really counts for any of us, no matter how many different opinions are posted. ;)
  • Ford does it every year though, come sept-dec, there will be heavy discounts on the 2015's.

Besides with a new model, might was well wait for some of the bugs to be ironed out.
  • Brought my new 2014 Ecoboost home yesterday. Started out looking at the 2015 but the deals just weren't there like on a similarly equipped 2014. Picked up and XLT, Supercrew 4x4, 3.55 electronic locking axle, tow pkg,302A option pkg,HID headlamps, leather buckets with console, remote start and more for about $15,000 off the window sticker after rebates and incentives from Ford totalling $7500, $5050 off from the dealer and I refused to pay for dealer adds that amounted to $3100 including the remote start, tint, bedliner, wheel locks, pinstriping, door edge giuards, paint treatment and so on. Sticker was $51,195 and its not even a Lariat or Platinum! And they gave me $13,000 for my 2006 F-150 2WD XLT Supercab in trade. I think I did pretty good compared to a 2015 with only $3000 off and a $1000 rebate.
