2015 F350 DW Questions

For those of you with the 2015 F350 DW diesel and gas, here are my questions:
1. What mpg are you actually getting with your truck camper and what speed are you going to achieve it?
2. What rear axle do you have for these mpg figures?
3. Please specify if gas or diesel, 4WD, type of camper would be great.

We are needing feedback on this as I keep coming across articles that say this truck is getting poor mpg figures. We have always been Ford truck people but don't want to buy this if the mileage is much poorer that the Dodge or Chevy. We are close to getting a new truck and tend to keep them forever but don't want to pay the kind of money required for a new truck with poor performance. If others have feedback on the other brands, we would love to hear from you as well. Thanks to all for your input on this.

  • I have 2015 F350 CC DRW PSD grossing 14350 lbs loaded 3.73 rear gear at 70 mph lucky to see double digits 60 mph 11-12
  • The circumference of the tires could make a 1 mpg difference between two identical vehicles.
  • My numbers From two different trucks. One a 2011, the other a 2015. Hauling a 2006 Okanagan 117DBL 6K pound camper
    2011 4X4 3.73 gears Maintaining 70 mph, 9.695 mpg over 1039 miles.
    2015 4X4 4.30 gears maintaining 70 mph, 10.237 mpg over 1101 miles.

Both trucks 6.7 PSD F-350 DRW. The 2015 has the high capacity trailer towing package.

My thoughts on the lower mileage for the 2011. Had one tank that was 10% bio diesel and it had the worst mileage which dropped the overall mileage of the trip.
The 2015 trip also had a very high tail wind most of the trip.
  • Sorry, it is DRW and not DW. It's been one of those days where nothing has gone right.

Only reference I have seen about a DW is Dear Wife, Da* Wife, etc...

Could be referring to DRW and made a small error typing, some of us make mistakes.
