Spoon059 I do have the numbers for the 6.0 because it was released in court.
Ford proved in a court of law that they paid over a Billion dollars in warrantee work for the 6.0 engine.
As you have already stated, and on the money I might add, Ford made approximately a million 6.0's in their F series vehicles.
Simple math tells me that every single 6.0 had $1,000 in repair done to it! :E Or every tenth 6.0 had $10,000 in repair done to it! :E Or somewhere in between. The latter being the truth.
That is a BIG failure rate. Even bigger when you consider, the vans and bigger trucks got the "soft Nav tune" and not the "Ford hot tune that caused a lot of problems." So most of the vans and big trucks did not have problems.
The question was about the 6.7 turbo's. And yes, the CC have a different turbo setup. At first people thought it was only a CC problem because that is what first starting to roll into the shop. Same way with the valve problems this engine has. Then the F250's and F350's started to roll in also. As indicated by the forums, there are a lot of failures.
As I have stated before, this is a balance problem and Ford knows this. That is why they went back to the single wheel turbo again. This will fix the turbo problem for the 15 6.7's IMHO.
Much like the GM LB7 injector problems, Ford is fixing the problems of this engine in 15. Ford has also addressed the other short comings of this engine in 15, as they should have. Good for them. :)
