You mathmetician guys that are thinking common sense as 1/2 ton equals 1000 pounds need to get back to the real word. A half ton trucks payload hasn't been 1000# or less since just about the time dirt was created. Unless all 3/4 tons and 1 tons get down to actual weights such as 1500# and 2000# respectively, your argument is void. And if a 1 ton truck becomes a 2000# cargo/occupant truck, then we are all screwed.
