Yes it is a troll post. Now look at my seniority date and tell me that I haven't earned the right to call you out
If you don't want to buy a Ram eco diesel then don't. The Eco Diesel fills a niche, just as Chrysler designed it to. The vast majority of half tons no matter the capacity are sold as passenger vehicles with a utility component,(the bed). Do you remember in the '70's the only multi door trucks were special spec military or government fleet? Now a days a two door pickup is almost as rare as a 4 door was then.
If you are looking for a towing or loadbearing platform, you will look for the proper tool.
Just a side note, My wifes Nissan Juke has a 1200 pound limit
Thanks for setting me straight. I guess I never realized what RAM was marketing toward. There brochure doesn't state the truck is not for towing, but only grocery getting. I never said I didn't want a RAM. I went looking and did the research. I noted surprising findings. Everything I stated in the OP is fact. I don't surmise 4 door truck use across the US. Hard core numbers. Never trolled for anything except like I said "it's not a contender" in the 1/2 to market AS A TRUCK that one would really think if I need to haul or pull something... I'll get a truck. I wasn't looking to pull my 10k travel trailer. I was looking for compromise. So, it isn't it. The point is I would have expected a payload close to Ford or GM. Even the gas RAM wasn't. I never figured RAM would or was marketing toward people who just want to "look" good. Loll run out and by a Juke now.
With that payload you may need to identify the type of grocery getting. A few things for lunches from Kroger's ok, stocking up at Sam's Club you might be cutting it close. :)
