In all seriousness, we (RV'ers) are a very small percentage of 1/2 ton owners. Many, many half ton owners never haul anything more than a load of mulch or a new mattress once or twice a year. The Ram 1500 may pale in comparison to the F-150 and GM when it comes to payload, but to 95% of half ton buyers, they just don't care about payload.
If you want >1500 lbs. of payload, get an appropriate Ford or GM, or if you insist on Ram, you'll have to step up to a 2500 series.
