The real issue here seems to be people understanding what they need out of a truck BEFORE they buy and not believing the "best case scenario" ads.
Here on the RV board we're left to pick up the pieces and break the bad news to the poor folks that just laid down 30K for a truck that doesn't do what they thought it did.
I think that was the intent of the threand, and not to be trolling. Seems Dodge needs to be called out on this as people expect it to be a truck with truck capabilities, not a vehicle with subcompact SUV capabilities. BTW, my wifes 2012 4WD Escape has 1030 lbs of payload.
BINGO! WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!! Thank you Mike Up!
Funny how the trolling card came out immediately, and others jumped on the bandwagon. I eat, breathe, and $&@#% trucks. They have been a hobby of mine for years. I totally understand payload, GVWR, GAWR, blah, blah, blah. I have never read that RAM was marketing the EcoDiesel to be a "super light duty" truck. When the populous goes out to buy a truck, they expect it to haul and tow. Then, add the term "diesel" and you instantly hear "capability". With the RAM, I was totally surprised to see first hand ONLY "fuel economy". Then add the gas Hemi version to that, I was totally blind sided. I guess the truck world is changing.
